Marie Fontenot

MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Friday, July 5, 2019, for Marie L. Fontenot, age 74, who passed away on Sunday, June 30 in Mamou.

Decan Ben Soileau will conduct funeral services.

Burial will take place in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eunice Louisiana.

Marie L. Fontenot was born on December 12, 1944 in Eunice, Louisiana to Joseph E. and Clamance Thibodeaux Labbie.  She had a very funny personality and enjoyed making people laugh.  Marie worked hard in order to provide for her family’s needs. She was a seamstress at Janssen’s in Eunice and then worked at Mamou Seafood where she cooked, was a waitress, and made deliveries.  Marie’s greatest joy was that of her family which she loved with her entire heart. She loved spoiling and taking care of her grandkids.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Beverly Fontenot and two stepsons, Joseph Kerry Fontenot and his companion Sonya Deshotel and Lee Allen Fontenot.  Also left behind to cherish her memory are her five grandchildren, Chase Guillory and fiancé Sarah Bourque, Mayci Fontenot, Cory Fontenot, Kerry Fontenot, and Hayden Fontenot and five great grandchildren Amelia Fontenot, Lars Fontenot, Lilly Fontenot, Bailey Fontenot and Kaylee Fontenot.

She is preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Allen Fontenot, daughter, Charity Fontenot, parents, Joseph E. and Clamance Thibodeaux Labbie, brother, Joseph C. Labbie, and son-in-Law, Clayton Fontenot Jr.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou Friday, July 5, 2019 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
