Marsha Anne Chapman Cortez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marsha Anne Chapman Cortez, who passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on June 12, 1957, in Mamou, Louisiana, Marsha lived her life with an infectious joy that touched everyone she met. A Celebration of Life will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery.

Marsha was a radiant light in the lives of many. Known for her warm smile and compassionate nature, she had an extraordinary gift for making others feel valued and loved. Her dedication to her community was evident throughout her years of service with the public, where she managed to create lasting connections through exceptional customer service and delightful conversations.

Marsha enjoyed life to the fullest, relishing in dancing and the joy of socializing with friends. She was a true people person, and her ability to reach out and connect with those around her created friendships that lasted a lifetime. She also loved taking care of her precious dogs, Sophia and TT.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She will be deeply missed by the love of her life and constant companion of over 30 years, George Topp III, of Mamou; her son, Michael Jagneaux and wife, Lindsay of Mamou; her precious grandchildren, Chloe McDaniel and husband, Alex of Pine Prairie, Tylan Hadley of Mamou and siblings Kerry Chapman of Centerville and Darlene Chapman Monical and husband, Dwayne of Deridder.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Hadley Chapman and Joann Fontenot Chapman, as well as her brother Charles Chapman. They welcomed her into eternal rest with open arms.

A visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Sunday, February 9, 2025, beginning at 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 9:00 am until the time of service.
