Mary "Clara" O'Connor

REDDELL -- Mary "Clara" O'Connor, 83, a beloved mother, cherished friend, and valued member of her community, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Ardoin Funeral Home in Mamou at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in the Ortego Cemetery with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating services.

Born in Lafayette on December 19, 1939, Clara led a life full of love, compassion, and dedication to those around her.  To her family and friends, she was their pillar of strength, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer comfort.  She was a hard worker and worked at the Reddell Creosote Plant as a secretary. When time allowed, she loved to dance with her husband, Joseph, read books and solve puzzles.  Clara's passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of her loved ones and those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a compassionate soul who brought joy to all who encountered her.

Clara leaves behind to cherish her memories her sons, Michael O'Connor and wife, Donna, Mitch O'Connor and wife, Samantha and Tim O'Connor; eight grandchildren, Seth, Lydia, Justin, Travis, Malarie, Staci, Rylee, Gavin; and ten great grandchildren, Amelia, Emma, Ivy, Melanie, Maya, Ayla, Jordyn, Reese, Cullen and Arya.

Clara is reunited in heaven with her husband, Joseph Donald O'Connor; parents, Kenby Lemaire and Anne Gary Lemaire; and sisters, Dorothy Beaugh and Audrey Morvant.

A visitation honoring Clara's life and highlighting the impact she had on those around her will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou, Louisiana beginning at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.
