Betty worked for the Evangeline Parish School System as a cafeteria worker. She was a loving and caring woman. Betty was the happiest when preparing her traditional Sunday dinners for her family. She never met a stranger and had an endless supply of jokes.
Betty will be greatly missed by her four daughters, Debra Blanchard and husband Richard, Rebecca Fuselier and husband Thomas, Meretta Melder and husband Jerry, and Nina Thibodeaux and husband James. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her nine grandchildren: Danielle Stafford, Nicole Chapel, Amy Rizzuto, Jacques Fuselier, Elizabeth Boudreaux, Brian Melder, Leah Howard, Kylie Joubert, Katie Joubert; 20 great grandchildren; and one sister, Debry Dekerlegand.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leah Catorie Vidrine and Rudolf Vidrine; husband of 71 years, Johnny Pommier; grandson, John R. Blanchard, Jr.; brothers, Ellis Vidrine and Dorris Vidrine; and sisters, Elna Vidrine, Viola Johnson, and Mary Hilda Johnson. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
