Maryilyn Soileau

MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 for Maryilyn Mayeaux Soileau, 89, who passed away on September 28, 2019 in Mamou.

Deacon Chuck Ortego will conduct funeral services.  Burial will take place in the Platin Cemetery.

Maryilyn Mayeaux Soileau was born in Vidrine, Louisiana on March 17, 1930 to Narcis and Agnes Fontenot Mayeaux.  Maryilyn enjoyed making ceramics and painting in her shop, planting flowers in her yard, and traveling to different places on bus trips.  She was active in her community as a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Society.  Maryilyn’s greatest joy was that of spending time with and taking care of her family.  She was a special lady that will be missed by many.

Maryilyn is survived by her two daughters Nancy K. Soileau and Donna Ann Fontenot both of Vidrine and five grandchildren Melissa Ann LeRoy, Jessica Lynn Dixon, Mary Jo Norris, Sarah Beth McGee, and Jared Paul Soileau.  Also left behind to cherish her memory are her ten great grandchildren.

Maryilyn is preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of over 60 years, Arvin Joe Soileau, parents Narcis and Agnes Fontenot Mayeaux, son James C. “Jimmy” Soileau, and son-in-law Vorance Glyn Fontenot.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
