MAMOUIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announce the passing of their beloved, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Mavy Miller Fontenot, on September 15, 2010 at Savoy Care Center in Mamou at the age of 94. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 17, 2010 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann Mausoleum with Father Mark Melancon officiating.

She leaves behind a loving and grateful family including her two daughters, Carol Leggett and husband, Clive of Mamou and Sheran Blanchard and husband, Gil Roy of Morgan City one sister, Ruby Landreneau of Mamou two grandchildren, Reba Castaneda and James Blanchard and four greatgrandchildren.

Mavy now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Oswald L. Fontenot parents, Mayo and Cedia Fontenot one brother, Wesley Miller and three sisters, Ozina Landreneau, Hattie Fontenot, and Vernice Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00am Friday morning.
