MamouIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Mercedene Landreneau announces her passing on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Savoy Medical Center. She was 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:30 pm on Monday, December 20, 2010 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Interment will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon officiating.

Mercedene was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She leaves behind a loving and grateful family including her son, Ferral Vidrine and wife, Pam of Westlake a stepson, Ned Landreneau and wife, Pat of Lafayette a stepdaughter, Jane Manuel and husband, James of Pine Prairie daughterinlaw, Hope Landreneau of Mamou three brothers, Bob Deshotel of Pine Prairie, J.L. Soileau of Reddell and Norris Soileau of Scott one sister, Lillian Holcolm of Colorado seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Mercedene now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Chester Landreneau her son, Joseph Gaynell Vidrine and stepson, Ronald Landreneau.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, December 20, 2010 from 8:30 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 2:00 pm Monday.
