MAMOU - Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou on Thursday, January 3, 2019 for Pascal John "Inkey" Berzas, 73, who passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2018.
Burial will follow in the New St. Ann Mausoleum.
Father Billy Massie will officiate services.
John Berzas was born on March 26, 1946 in Eunice, Louisiana to Dominic and Odette Pierrottie Berzas. He was a dedicated pharmacist for nearly 50 years. He was a past member of the Rotary Club and a donator to the Rotary Club Scholarship fund for 40 years. He also loved helping his community by being a Boy Scout leader. John was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with family and friends.
John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Callie Douget Berzas; two sons, John P. Berzas, II "John John" and wife Heather of Opelousas, and Jacob Berzas and wife Johnette of Mamou. His memory will also live on through his four grandchildren: Jasmine Berzas, Aubre Berzas, Alexis Willis and Peyton Berzas, and one great grandchild, Greyson Willis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Odette Pierrottie Berzas.
The family request visitation to be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Thursday, January 3, 2018 from 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 12:30 PM, followed by a eulogy by Timothy Richard.
