MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of, Raymond Lejeune,64 announces his passing on Monday, September 30, 2013 at his residence in Mamou. A Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 02, 2013 at 1:30 PM at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will be follow in the Pine Point Cemetery with Father Richard Broussard as Celebrant.
Raymond Lejeune served as the Chief Criminal Prosecutor and Assistant District Attorney of Evangeline Parish from 1997 through 2008. During that time he handled the most difficult criminal cases for the Evangeline Parish District Attorneys office.
Prior to serving as Chief Criminal Prosecutor, Raymond had established the reputation of being an excellent Criminal Defense Lawyer. During his entire career he handled over 50 trials either as Prosecutor or Defense Attorney.
Raymond was best known for his candor and wit in working with Attorneys and Judges. There is nothing he enjoyed more than a real joke to lighten any situation. He was a really good attorney and a great friend to all
Raymond will truly be remembered as a successful trial attorney and Prosecutor.
He was an Attorney in Mamou for 38 years once served as Rotary President, was in the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 123, Woodman of The World and Jaycees

Raymond will be greatly missed by his wife Kathryn Kitty Brunet Lejeune of Mamou two sons, Paul Raymond Lejeune and companion Christina Hollenbeck of Erwinville and Brian Joshua Lejeune and wife, P.J. of Baton Rouge one granddaughter, Aila Jane Lejeune two brothers, Harold Lejeune of Jennings and Darell Lejeune of Mamou.
He is preceded in death by his parents Romain and Annie Ardoin Lejeune..
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, October 01, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm .The Funeral Home will reopen on Wednesday, October 02, 2013 at 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm by Deacon Chuck Ortego
