MAMOU It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Rena Brunet, 84, announces her passing on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Oak Lane Wellness Center in Eunice. A Christian Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow at the New St. Anns Cemetery in Mamou with Father Mark Melancon officiating.
Rena was the owner and operator of Papa Joes Ice Cream Parlor. A wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend, Rena will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by one son, Glyn Brunet of Mamou, one daughter, Deborah Leonards and husband Don of Eunice one brother, Terry Fontenot and wife Barbara of Mamou , one sister, Joyce Reed of Mamou. four grandchildren, Jonathon Morris Brunet and wife Lesley of Carencro, Kevin Leonards and wife Katie of Baton Rouge, James Leonards and wife Cynthia of Baton Rouge and Christopher Leonards of Eunice five great grandchildren, Alyce, Noah, Chloe, Ian, and Addison.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Delphia Fontenot, her husband, Joffery Brunet and one son, Sonny James Brunet. At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Saturday, June 15 2013 from 8:30 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 am.
