MAMOU – A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 for Robert Bernard Thompson, Jr., 72, who passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Father Louis Richard will conduct the graveside service.
Burial will take place in New St. Ann’s Cemetery in Mamou, LA.
Robert Bernard Thompson, Jr. was born in Ville Platte, LA on June 15, 1947 to Dr. Robert Bernard Thompson, Sr. and Kathleen Barham Howerton. He loved his job as Chief Inspector on the pipelines. His greatest joy was his precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay Guillory Thompson; daughter, Manda Suzette Thompson of Mamou; son, Robert Bernard Thompson of Ponder, TX.; four grandchildren, Shaley Lafleur, Noah Lafleur, Tucker Thompson, and Harper Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Rory Brown, Khloe Brown, Ivy Lafleur, and Sage Lafleur; and sisters, Katherine Wimberly of Carencro and Kristen Plauche and husband Andy of Broussard.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Robert Bernard Thompson, Sr., and Kathleen Barham Howerton; his stepmom for over 49 years, Mary (Butch) Thompson; sister, Alice Penn; brother, Stephen Thompson; grandchild, Emma Thompson; and great-grandchild, Matthew Lafleur.
