MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Romana Ortwein announces her passing at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria on December 24, 2014 at 8:30 p.m., at the age of 73. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon as Celebrant.
Romona was retired after 33 years at Guaranty Bank. She was also an Extra Ordinary Minister and Parishioner of St. Anns Catholic Church.
A wonderful mother, Sister, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend Romona will be greatly missed by her four children, Francis Rick Ortwein of Woodstock, Ga, Joseph K. Joe Ortwein and wife Cappy of Navarre, Fl, Ann Ortwein Runnels and Karen Vidrine and husband, Darren all of Mamou one brother, Bob Marcantel and wife, Katy of Vidrine seven grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
Romana will now reunite in Heaven with her husband, Joseph P. Ortwein, her parents, Clinton and Lovenia Fontenot Marcantel, one son, Joseph Patrick Ortwein, Jr. and two grandsons, Joshua Ortwein and Brandon Runnels. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 8:00 am until time of Services. A rosary will be recited Friday evening at 6:30 PM.
