MAMOU-It is with great sadness that the family of Sammy Rider announces his passing on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Lafayette General Hospital at the age of 18. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann's Cemetery with Father Bryce Sibley officiating.

Sammy was a resident of Mamou and a 2009 graduate of Mamou High School. He is survived by his beloved parents, David and Lorie Rider; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Elwin Granger of Mamou; maternal grandparents, Larry and Beverly Broussard of Mamou; and one brother, Danny Rider and wife, Alaina of Vidrine.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Mamou on Monday, July 20, 2009 from 12:00 pm until Services on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
