MAMOU-Funeral Services will be Celebrated on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. for Sarah Mildred Millie Plauche, 82, at the First Baptist Church in Mamou. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery with Brother Ervin Goodman officiating the services.

Mrs. Plauche, a native of Alabama and a resident of Pine Prairie, passed away on Thursday, September 18 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Savoy Medical Center. She graduated from USL and also from the Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, LA. She held a Masters Degree in Education and was a teacher of the Evangeline Academy of Mamou in upper elementary.

A Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend, she is survived by her husband, Rev. Melvin P. Plauche of Mamou, La; one daughter, Millie Lee Alvarez and husband, Jose of Baton Rouge, La; two granddaughters, Crystal Lee Robertson and Heather Robertson; seven great-grandchildren, Alejandro, Selina, Gabriel, Brandon, Miguel, Natalie, and Shaylin. All who knew and loved her will miss her dearly.

The family request that visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Friday, September 19, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until Services.

Ardoins Funeral Home of Mamou is in charge of arrangements.
