MAMOU - Sharron Lea Hampshire, a compassionate mother, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Mamou, Louisiana, the town where she was born on Tuesday, October 25, 1960. Sharron leaves behind a legacy of compassion and kindness that touched the lives of many throughout her 63 years.
In her professional role as a nurse, Sharron exemplified the true essence of caregiving. Her commitment to her patients and colleagues was unwavering, earning her respect and admiration from all. Her work at Savoy Medical Center not only showcased her medical expertise but also her ability to provide comfort and support in times of need.
Beyond her career, Sharron will be remembered for her Cajun cooking and love for animals. She had a passion for cooking Cajun dishes and sharing them with others. Additionally, Sharron had a special place in her heart for dogs and cats, often opening her home to any stray animal that crossed her path. Her nurturing spirit extended not only to humans but also to the furry friends she welcomed into her life.
Sharron's memory will be cherished by her surviving family members and friends, including her son, Matthew Hampshire; brother, David Hampshire; nieces, Michelle Harpster, Angela Liles, Lisa Howard, Anna Hampshire, and Emily Hampshire; cousin, Capri Young; aunt, Winnetta Powell; four great nieces and three great nephews and her four legged babies, Leda and Lyla.
Services to honor and celebrate Sharron's life will take place at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
