MAMOUA wonderful husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and friend, Dicky will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Dicky died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 following a short illness. He was 80. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 1:00 pm at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou with Father Mark Melancon Celebrant and Father Harold Trahan CoCelebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Mausoleum.
Dicky was a lifelong SelfEmployed Merchant, previous owner of the Cester Youngs Appliance Store in Mamou. He was the Fire Chief of the Mamou Volunteer Fire Department for many years, as well a Board Member of Citizens Bank. The things that brought Dicky the most joy in his life were gardening and woodwork but most importantly he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dicky, leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his loving wife of 62 years, Juanita Fuselier Young of Mamou three loving sons, Randall Young and his wife, Jerri of Mamou, Rhett Young and his wife, Sally of Ville Platte, and Robin Young and his wife, Missy of Mamou three daughters, Melinda Lodge and her husband, Richard of Shreveport , Melody Pierrotti and her husband, Marion of Mamou and Manon Deloach and her husband Ernie of Vidrine eleven grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren and three stepgrandchildren and five step greatgrandchildren.
Now he rests in heaven with his beloved parents, Cester and Orena Manuel Young.
The family requests that visitation take place on Thursday, October 18th from 10:30 am till 10:00 pm. Friday, October 19th from 8:00 am until time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Thursday.
