MAMOU - Funeral services will be held at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, for Terry Gene Fontenot, 75, who passed away on September 30, 2018 in Mamou, LA.

Father Matthew Hebert will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct funeral services.

Entombment will take place in New St. Ann's Mausoleum.

Terry was born in Ville Platte, LA on November 5, 1942 to Clifton Fontenot and Ida Soileau Fontenot. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Terry worked in the oilfield for many years. After retiring from the oilfield, he went on to drive a school bus in the Mamou area. As any true Cajun he loved celebrating Mardi Gras. Terry enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He would get together twice a week with his friends to play cards. His true love was the love he had for his family.

He enjoyed spending time and making memories with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Florence Darbonne Fontenot, three children, Michelle Kidder and husband Troy of Mamou, Dawn Pierrotti of Mamou, and Brian Pierrotti and wife Kimberly of Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren, Devin and Khloe Kidder, Kagen Pierrotti, and Cullen and Bentley Pierrotti; and brother, Gerald Fontenot and wife Babs of Maurice.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Ida Soileau Fontenot; and nephew, Matthew Daspit.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin on Tuesday at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM.
