MAMOU-A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Horace Reed, 92, was Celebrated Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Bob Courville officiating.

Mrs. Horace Reed, the former Ms. Vernice Chapman, a resident of Mamou, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Savoy Medical Center.

A loving mother,sister and grandmother, Vernice is survived by four daughters, Priscilla Redman of Houston, TX, Verona Vidrine and husband, Patrick of Patterson, Gloria Stephenson and husband, Jimmy of Oakdale, and Kaye LaCoste and husband, Warren of Lafayette; one sister, Lee Belle Bordelon of Mamou; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Reed; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Chapman; and one son-in-law, Paul Redman.

The Family request that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. until services.
