MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Wallace Jim Thompson, 83 announces his passing on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 5:10 pm at Savoy Care Center in Mamou. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 22, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Mamou.
Mr. Thompson was a Cotton and Rice Farmer Volunteered as a School Bus Driver in Evangeline Parish Schools. He was a Bartender and loved telling Stories and loved to Joke. He enjoyed going to the Casino and most of all he loved his grandchildren and great Grandchildren.
Jim as everyone knew him will be greatly missed by his daughter, Wanda Derouen and husband, Ralph of Lake Charles two grandchildren, Keith Derouen of Lake Charles and Stacy Canter and husband, Randall of Holmwood four greatgrandchildren, Hannah, Kandace, Victoria and Gracie.
Jim will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Tanzy and Sedia McCauley Thompson, one greatgranddaughter, Alex, two sisters, Lena Devillier and Dorothy Vidrine Manuel and two brothers inlaw, Terry Vidrine and Lenus Chalk Devillier
They surely await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home on Friday March 21, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The Funeral Home will reopen at
