Wendell Mark Ardoin was born on Monday, September 22, 1959, in Ville Platte, Louisiana and passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 in Lafayette, Louisiana, just one day shy of his 65th birthday. Wendell’s life exemplified creativity, passion, and a profound connection to nature and family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou, Louisiana on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery with Father Billy Massie conducting services.
An artist at heart, Wendell found joy and fulfillment in drawing, pouring his emotions onto the canvas with each stroke. His artistic endeavors were a true reflection of his vibrant spirit, capturing the beauty around him and sharing it with others. Wendell was a hard worker earning a degree in marketing from McNeese State University. His love for the outdoors was equally significant; he cherished the time spent engaging in hobbies such as deer hunting, fishing, and creating cherished memories at Miller's Lake with family while duck hunting. These activities not only exemplified his appreciation for nature but also his desire to share joyous moments with loved ones.
He will be remembered for the laughter and love he brought into the lives of those around him especially his sister, Wanda Manuel and husband, Gene of Walker, Louisiana; his nephews, Lannie Manuel of Baton Rouge, Jamie Manuel of Baton Rouge, and Ryan Manuel and his wife, Aimee of Walker; his great nephews, Joshua, Owen, Miles, Dillon, Brody, and Noah; and his great great niece Kinlee.
Wendell is preceded in death by his parents, Armile Ardoin and Ethe Vidrine Ardoin.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:45 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home, located at 717 6th St, Mamou, LA 70554. Following the visitation, a rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM.
Wendell Mark Ardoin's legacy will be cherished, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
