MAMOU - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of WJ "Dub" Fontenot, 76, announces his passing on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow at the Tee Mamou Cemetery in Ville Platte with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.

WJ will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty Louise Speyrer Fontenot of Reddell; one son, Dirk Alan Fontenot and wife Rebecca of Reddell; two daughters, Angela Fontenot Mouton of Reddell and Anna Shea Fontenot of Prairieville; one sister, Etheline Johnston of Oakdale; one sister-in-law, Jane Fontenot; five grandchildren, Eric P. Mouton, Aaron J. Mouton, Clay A. Mouton, Caroline and Chloe Fontenot and two great grandchildren.
WJ will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Ivy and Essie Vidrine Fontenot, two brothers, E.F.B. "Berthward" Fontenot and Terrell Wayne Fontenot, and one sister, Ferna Belle Richards. They surely await his arrival with open arms and a joyous heart.
At the request of the Fontenot family visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 6:30 P.M. by Deacon Chuck Ortego.
